What is Tera Mai Reiki

Reiki is a gentle but powerful hands on healing art, which originated in Japan.

The energy involved is the universal energy that surrounds all living things and it stimulates the body's own ability to heal itself.

We usually cannot see this energy without technical assistance because it operates on a frequency that is too fast for the naked eye to see.

Reiki helps us to get 'In the Flow'; it promotes both physical and emotional wellbeing, helping us to cope better with the emotional storms that often accompany the ups and downs of life.

The word Reiki is Japanese and means:

Rei - "wisdom and knowledge of the entire universe"; i.e. the wisdom from God, the creator, the Divine or the Source.

ki - is the life-force energy that flows through all living, breathing beings. Everything is energy.

When our "Ki" or Life Force Energy is flowing freely, we are generally happier, healthier and more balance.

In addition to adults, Reiki can be used on the elderly, children, pets and even plants because of its gentle and non-invasive nature.

What does Reiki feel like?

As an energy healing therapy, a Reiki treatment feels like a velvety light radiating through and around you that brings about a state of deep relaxation. Sensations can range from soothing, cool tinglings to gentle, warm waves – though each client’s experience is unique and can vary at every session. Sometimes Reiki recipients may even see colours or get insights during or just after a treatment.
